Updates on my life.

Sorry about not posting much for the last couple of months. It's been a bit of an emotional roller-coaster for me. Join me after the jump for what has happened.

Top 5 list of stuff I'd love to see.

I haven't posted that much lately because I've been grappling with some lovely computer troubles. My desktop decided to be a dick and perpetually BSOD ("blue screen of death" for those not versed in geek-speak) on me, so I had to take it to my older brother Tavis to fix. I hope to God I'll get it back soon, because this laptop I'm using is really shitty.

Anyway, this is just a top 5 list of stuff I'd love to see and why. Bear in mind, these were written as they popped into my head, so they're in no particular order. Now then, join me after the jump for the insanity...

The Eighth Doctor and Mary Shelley: Winning Combo!

If there's one thing I love about Doctor Who more than any other show with time travel is it's willingness to have the Doctor interact with historical figures without any worries. However, the company Big Finish has recently done something even more ballsy than that: They took a historical figure and made them a companion! Who, you ask? Well, if you didn't read the title, I'm talking about Frankenstein author Mary Shelley. Join me after the jump to read my thoughts on such a brilliant pairing of Doctor and companion.

Hey, everyone! I'm so sorry for not posting. I've had all kinds of stuff distracting me lately. Plus, a lack of ideas of what to post about is really bad for a blog. Especially when you post as sporadically as I do. I may as well bring you few who actually read this up to date with what's been going on with me. Join me after the jump if you wish to know.

Poor RTD... :'(

I'm not usually one to follow the latest gossip on people who've worked on my favorite shows and whatnot, but there's some news I've read recently that's kinda distressing to me. Former head writer for Doctor Who Russell T. Davies (or "RTD" if you're of the shortening mind) has put his Hollywood career on hold to move back to his home in Manchester. Why? Because his partner has been diagnosed with brain cancer and needs some serious treatment. I read about it here. I understand his pain, as 2 of my friends from church -who are brother and sister- lost their father to it.

Just putting this out there: If you see this as another opportunity to bash on him for doing shit in Doctor Who you don't like, than you have no soul. I don't care who you are. He brought back a show that had been considered since the 1980s as "past its prime" and "a joke" and made it relevant again in pop culture. My thoughts and prayers are with him in this trying time.

For those who don't know, today is a day that a lot of people hold dear to their hearts. Well, if you're British and/or a geek at any rate. 48 years ago today was the day Doctor Who debuted on television. So I decided that in celebration, I'm going to describe the personality of each the -as of this writing- 11 Doctors, accompanied by pictures of each of them. Are you sitting comfortably? Trailer for a live-action "Phoenix Wright" movie! XD

If there's one game series I cannot get enough of sometimes, it's the Ace Attorney series. It's courtroom antics at it's finest. So, when I found out that Capcom had endorsed a live action film adaptation, I was excited. Especially because it was being made in Japan, nowhere near Hollywood's "creative input". After seeing the trailer, it got me even more excited. I'm praying for it to be released here in the USA. Wanna see the trailer for yourself? Take a look after the jump. In Defense of Rose Tyler and the Doctor's Attachment to Her.

This is probably gonna provoke a serious flame war, but I feel the need to get this out of my system and onto this blog ASAP. Basically, this is going to be an entry dedicated to defending the character Rose Tyler from the rather harsh feelings and unfair criticism that I feel some Doctor Who fans have had towards her. I'll also make an attempt at explaining why I feel the Doctor was so emotionally attached to her, which is something else some fans took umbrage with. A Premier on "Doctor Who".

Hello, everyone. Here's hoping you had a great September 11th. I pray we all that we all can continue to move forward in the world after that terrible tragedy 10 years ago.

Now that's out of the way, I decided that I'd bite the bullet today and write a blog entry on Doctor Who, that British sci-fi TV show I mentioned in my first entry. Let's Plays: A Unique Way to Experience Games.

Today, I decided to dedicate a blog entry to a gaming phenomenon that's sweeping YouTube: Let's Plays. For those who don't know, Let's Plays -hereby referred to as LPs- are basically video game walkthrough videos, but with commentary from the player added in. The commentary provides the viewer with tips and tricks for the game that's being played, along with the occasional non-sequitur.
